Park appoints new board members
Richmond, Va. – The Virginia BioTechnology Research Park recently announced the appointment of three new members to its Corporation Board and the reappointment of two existing members.
New members of the Virginia BioTechnology Research Park Corporation Board include:
- Rob Habgood, senior vice president, Business Analysis of Capital One; elected for a one-year term, beginning July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007.
- Carlton E. Miller, M.D., president of the AMDC Arthritis and Osteoporosis Clinic; elected for a one-year term, beginning July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007.
- Brandon J. Price, Ph.D., principal consultant for Falcon Ridge Associates Inc.; elected for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2009.
Reappointed members include:
- Donna J. Edmonds, chief operating officer and senior vice president of Vital Sensors Inc.; reappointed for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2009.
- William H. Weirich, managing director of Matrix Capital Markets Group Inc.; reappointed for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2009.
About the Park:
Situated on 34 acres adjacent to VCU’s medical campus, the Park is currently home to a unique mix of more than 55 technology companies, research institutes affiliated with the VCU Medical Center, and major state and national medical laboratories. After completion of the new $350 million Philip Morris USA Center for Research and Technology, the Park will encompass 1.2 million square feet of space in nine buildings and employ more than 2,000 industry professionals.
