Park announces newest tenant
Richmond, Va. – The Virginia BioTechnology Research Park recently announced the location of its newest tenant, ClearPoint Resources Inc (CRI).
“ClearPoint Resources scientific division will be an excellent addition to the Park and help us support the growing needs of the local life science community,” stated Robert Skunda, president and CEO of the Park.
In June 2006, Mercer Staffing Inc. and Quantum Resources Corp. merged to form ClearPoint Business Resources Inc. The company works with organizations to provide workforce solutions, business services and project-based staff augmentation. ClearPoint specializes in supporting a variety of industries including engineering, transportation, health care and information technology.
Currently headquartered in Chalfont, Pa., the company identified Richmond as a highly active life science market for its scientific division. They will begin operations at the Park in early September.
“CRI hopes to strengthen the local business market by anchoring its roots in the Park,” commented Christina Haase, director of CRI’s scientific division. “This location will allow us to keep up-to-date on bio-business trends, pertinent legislative information and new developments in the biotech community, which ultimately will allow us to serve the industry better.”
About the Park:
Situated on 34 acres adjacent to VCU’s medical campus, the Park is currently home to a unique mix of more than 55 technology companies, research institutes affiliated with the VCU Medical Center, major state and national medical laboratories. After completion of the new $350 million Philip Morris USA Center for Research and Technology, the Park will encompass 1.2 million square feet of space in nine buildings and employ more than 2,000 industry professionals.
