Tenants learn about ethics in clinical trials

Richmond, VA – John R. Wilson, Ph.D., president of SociusRx, LLC,educated a group of local entrepreneurs, scientists and industry affiliates on the role of ethics in clinical trials at October’s “Brown Bag” luncheon. The luncheon was organized by the Virginia Biosciences Development Center and sponsored by McGuireWoods, LLP.

John R. Wilson Jr., Ph.D., M.P.H., president or SociusRX, LLC; R. Carter Scott III, attorney with McGuireWoods, LLP; and David R. Lohr, executive director of the Virginia Biosciences Development Center.

About VBDC

The VBDC, located at the Virginia BioTechnology Research Park, provides business assistance to start-up companies located in the park’s incubator facility. In less than three years, the VBDC has emerged as a major contributor to the growth of early stage life science technology businesses in the Richmond area. VBDC staff have counseled more than 23 start-ups and helped to launch eight of them. Since its inception, VBDC has secured cash and/or in-kind commitments, grants and contracts exceeding $750,000 for the benefit of growing the life sciences industry in the region.
