Local entrepreneurs learn “ins and outs” of
government contracting

VBDC Executive Director David Lohr welcomes
local entrepreneurs to the VBDC’s December luncheon.
RICHMOND, Va. – Federal funding contracts are an important
source of capital for early-stage and start-up biotechnology
companies due to the recent drought of venture capital. Sam
Davidson, manager with KPMG LLP’s Risk Advisory Service
in Government Contracting, explained the “ins and outs”
of government contracting to a group of local entrepreneurs,
scientists and industry affiliates who attended December’s
“Brown Bag” luncheon. The luncheon, organized
by the Virginia Biosciences Development Center, was sponsored
by KPMG.
