kSERO game recognized as a top choice for the National Association
for Gifted Children
RICHMOND, Va. – kSERO Corp., Inc., has announced that
its innovative learning product, Metanon: The Biocode Adventure,
has been selected for inclusion in the National Association
for Gifted Children’s (NAGC) Holiday Educational Toy
list for 2003.
The game, which is designed to introduce children to such
scientific concepts of genetics and DNA while developing cognitive
skills, features six alien characters, all stranded on the
distant planet Metanon. To return the characters to their
home planets, players must gather supplies from three cities.
However, to gain access to these cities the children must
collect and piece together “biocodes.” The innovative
aspect of this game is that each biocode is a part of a pattern
for a biological feature of a Metanon species. This introduces
children to the concept of DNA in a fun and easy way at a
very early age. The adventure game is full of surprises, simple
enough for younger players and challenging for older players.

the importance of critical thinking skill development in children
and the how our educational products can help parents and
teachers address this need in a way that the children will
enjoy.”
NAGC’s Holiday Toy List will be released in the September
issue of Parenting for High Potential, a quarterly magazine
designed to help parents develop their children’s skills
and talents.
kSERO is a life sciences company based at the Virginia BioTechnology
Research Park that develops a full line of products and preprograms

by Hardwicke and Donald Abraham, professor of medicinal chemistry
at Virginia Commonwealth University and director of VCU’s
Institute for Structural Biology and Drug Discovery.

The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) is an
organization of parents, teachers, educators, other professionals
and community leaders who work to address the unique needs
of children with demonstrated gifts and talents as well as
those children who may be able to develop their talent potential
with appropriate educational experiences.
