"Biotechnology Bonanza" summer camp tours the Park

More than 60 middle school students from around the Greater
Richmond visited the Virginia BioTechnology Research Park
during the 3rd annual “Biotechnology Bonanza”
summer camp. The week-long program focuses on teaching rising
8th and 9th graders about the life sciences and careers opportunities.
During their visit, campers heard from Margery Harris, forensic
scientist supervisor at the Virginia Division of Forensic
Science; toured the Virginia Commonwealth University Institute
for Structural Biology and Drug Discovery, and talked with
employees of kSERO Corp., an early stage bioscience company
focused on education. The “Biotechnology Bonanza”
is co-sponsored by the Virginia Biotechnology Association,
J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, John Tyler Community
College, Capital Area Partners for Educational Reform and
the Partnership to Ensure Educational Reform.
