BioTech Center

The Virginia BioTechnology Center was Virginia’s first biotechnology incubator, completed and occupied in 1995. Funded by $5 million from a statewide bond referendum, the 27,000-square-foot BioTech Center boasts state-of-the-art laboratories, offices and conference areas. Small and start-up biosciences companies that lease space in the BioTech Center will find full access to a variety of business resource and support facilities, from cold rooms, X-ray processing and laboratory washing to sterilization equipment. Standard laboratory modules in the BioTech Center are approximately 640 square feet and are equipped with benches, wet laboratories, storage space and full data/telecommunication connections. The labs include 126-square-foot office space. Private offices also are available, ranging in size from 130-300 square feet.
