Employing professional service firms is an important yet costly use of resources for thinly capitalized start-up companies.
To assist its client companies, the Virginia Biosciences Development Center has recruited 16 high-quality professional service firms that have agreed to provide discounted rates to incubator companies or support the VBDC generally through cash sponsorship.
Pro bono sponsors include general legal counsel, patent counsel, and specialists in accounting and audit, advertising, business consulting, public relations, human resources, banking and financial services.
The potential value to a VBDC client is more than $5,000
annually in pro bono services. This is a valuable service
because companies located in the Park can conserve cash and
resources, and use them toward expanding their research and
bringing products and services to market.
The VBDC also provides certain administrative, clerical and office support services for a fee.
