Richmond has been known as a center of commerce and industry since the beginnings of America. Many technological inventions and business “firsts” have occurred in Richmond, including the country’s first electric streetcar system, first black-owned-and-operated bank, first woman bank president and first elected African-American governor.
Now Richmond is becoming known as the new “East Coast
center for biosciences,” proving that Richmond is Easy
to Love for science and technology.
